Chronicles of Narnia
Many ministries have the passion, desire and ideas for ways to impact their community. Unfortunately, those desires and ideas can only carry them so far. In the case of an ESL (English as a Second Language) camp in Germany, they needed new curriculum. The students in this week-long camp range between the ages of 13 and 17. Over the past few years, the camp has been using curriculum based on the first two Chronicles of Narnia movies. This year, they wanted a new curriculum based off of the third film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. GEM EuroTeam has been partnering with this camp for several years, and for this curriculum, we have joined them in the partnership.
The camp is not officially Christian, and all kids are welcome, but every leader in the camp is a Christian and tries to show Christ in both word and deed. The curriculum serves dual purposes, and we must design it with that in mind. The first purpose is to help the kids learn new English skills and refresh what they have learned in the past. The second goal is to provide opportunity for discussion around the Christian themes in the movie that will spark deeper thought about the role of Christ in their life. eDOT is excited to partner in this opportunity to share Jesus with these German youths. May the Holy Spirit be at work.
